BIOGRAPHY

Dalila Belato delves into human anatomy in her research studies. It depicts body parts such as faces, feet and hands, reinventing a universal language in a personal, innovative and ironic way. His works are of a realism that goes as far as the particularities of the skin, capturing, like a snapshot, expressions of great vitality in the faces. They reproduce in detail the emotion that, with all urgency, cuts across the face. At the same time, it superimposes the world of insects on the human. Their presence alludes both to the process of transformation itself, both physical and, indirectly, spiritual, as well as to another world. His works combine and bring these two universes closer, underlining in particular the complexity and formal perfection of the animal one, characterized by bright and bright colours.

His sculptures are created through mixed techniques and hybrid materials, with the use of final patinas which, depending on the case, make them similar to bronze, marble and iron. In 2015, Belato won the sculpture section prize of Expo Arte Italiana curated by Vittorio Sgarbi in Varedo (MI). He lives and works in Palermo.
